Stata Computer-Lab Licenses

Student Lab licenses are licenses that are strictly for use by students in a university for coursework and by faculty for teaching at degree-granting institutions. Many universities are now looking toward virtual labs or bring-your-own-device options. To meet these changing expectations, the Student Lab licenses can be installed in one of two ways:

- For concurrent users: the Student Lab may be installed on a server or in a university computer lab. A virtual-lab configuration is acceptable.

- For a determined number of users: the Student Lab may be installed on individual computers or on student personal computers or laptops.

All Student Lab licenses can be purchased on a different time basis: annual, biannual and triennial. Any new releases that occur during the contract of the license term will be automatically sent to the registered administrator at no additional charge. This ensures that all users (students and teaching faculty) always have access to the latest version of Stata.

We do not offer new perpetual Student Lab licenses but we allow for the upgrade of old perpetual Lab licenses. The new feature of the Student Lab upgrades is that they now include the first year of maintenance automatically.
